I, too, had difficulty keeping my attention the first hour or so of the movie due to a trailer shown before hand, but it wasn't for that "1-8-08" movie. It was the "Who's Your Caddy" trailer. A more mind-numbing thing my eyes have never seen.

Great review, Josh. To date, I'm the only one in my family to see it. No one believes me that Michael Bay did a good job.

I thought the movie was fairly good. Unfortunately, I had difficulty keeping my attention on the first hour or so of the movie following that mysterious trailer for a movie to be released "1-8-08".

That trailer grabbed me like no trailer has in quite some time. Looks like it's some type of giant monster movie, told from a "camera-on-the-street" perspective. At least that's what I hope. Spielberg's World of the Worlds was one of the creepiest and most immersive movies I've ever seen, precisely because you always feel like you are seeing the world from the eyes of the normal people.

The rumor on the net is that this movie might somehow be connected to the Cthulhu Mythos(Maybe a modernized "Call of Cthulhu"?) The documentary style of the trailer would support that idea. Perhaps too much to hope for...
