We are definitely with or in the presence of Christ by virtue of His Spirit which is within us. Remember that Jesus said he would send "another" Helper. But their are many words that we use that are not in the bible. It also seems like that you are forgetting the last part of verse 17."And thus we shall always be with the Lord." Whatever resurrections happened at Christ's death had to be natural resurrections of the type of Lazarus and Jairus' daughter.
