So, any antenna labeled “HDTV Ready!” or “Digital” is just marketing hype. TV is still operating in the same set of frequencies as before (a smaller set of frequencies, but no additional ones). The frequency you are trying to receive is the determining factor in what antenna you need.

The only thing that has changed with TV is how they send the signal. Digital instead of Analog. Antennas don’t care what’s on the carrier, just what wavelength it’s at.

That’s the short version. If you want, I have a longer version that requires a projector, bed sheet, a glass of water and a rather large white board and markers.

Ok, so during the 4 hours it took to put that thing on the roof, I suggested that “we” should write a blog post about it and call it…you guessed it…”Ugly but Effective”! What I meant of course was that I would blog about it and call it that. And I was even gonna take a picture of the ugly thing so you would know what it looks like. Post title stealer!!
