Get Expelled Next Week

Ben SteinRecently Stephen at Undeception discussed intelligent design (and before that referred his readers to an Oklahoma bill related to creationism). This has gotten to think about the creation/evolution debate, which will probably never be definitively settled “this side of eternity”, as the saying goes. So being that this argument has been on my mind, my interest piqued when I heard the intro to a recent episode of the Focus on the Family radio program.

I am referring to the April 7 episode on which host Dr. James Dobson interviewed Ben Stein who is partly behind the new documentary film Expelled which will be released to theaters April 18th. Being a Jew, Stein states that he believes God made everything and is solely responsible for the creation of everything that exists. He uses this new documentary to address the issue of the lack of equal time and consideration given to intelligent design (which is apparently different from creationism). In the film, Stein, seeks to expose how intelligent design and any theory that questions so-called Darwinism is immediately met with scorn and backlash from much of the scientific and other communities and ultimately results in ostracizing of, removal of funding to, and broken careers for the dissenters.

The interview was very interesting and I am now interested in seeing what the film has to offer. You can listen to the entirety of Dobson’s interview with Stein online and you visit the Expelled website to learn more about this documentary.

NOTE: The following trailer states that the film opens February 2008. This is apparently an older trailer because the official site lists April 18, 2008.

Fascinating! I look forward to seeing it. I’ve always loved Ben Stein’s voice. And I’ve always loved documentaries. This should be right up my alley 🙂

Ben Stein is a renaissance man. He’s been a lawyer, a law professor, a speech writer for the White House, an actor, a writer, a political pundit, a game show host and a personal finance guru. And those are just the things I know about off the top of my head!

Frankly, I think people are missing the boat by worrying about illegal aliens taking their jobs. It isn’t illegal aliens they should be worrying about – it’s Ben Stein!
