The Smoak House by Josh H. I am a Christian
I believe in one true God, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit who is imparted to believers upon salvation, which is by grace through faith, and in the holy and sacred scriptures contained in the Bible.

I believe in the Kingdom of God in which He is putting His enemies under His feet (1 Cor. 15) and that one day, a time yet undisclosed, Christ will return, earthly history will end, believers will go into everlasting life and the presence of God, and unbelievers will go away into everlasting damnation.

I believe that God in His mercy desires that none perish but that all would come to everlasting life yet it is made clear in the scriptures that not all will be saved because of their hardness of heart. I believe that it is the duty of every Christian to be familiar with the gospel and to further its proclamation through personal evangelism and/or missions.

I do not believe in the “rapture”, the “Great Tribulation”, strict Calvinism, strict Arminianism, dispensationalism, or cessationism

I am a Constitutional Conservative
I believe that government is limited to the powers enumerated in Articles I through III of the Constituion. I believe that powers not delegated to the federal government by Articles I through III shall be reserved to the states or the people (10th amendment of the Bill of Rights).

I do not believe in income taxes, the Federal Reserve system, gun control laws, intervention into foreign affairs/wars (that do not threaten our liberty), government intervention in economics and the marketplace or abortion for any reason.

I am a Geek
I use and recommend the iPod, the Macinstosh platform, open source software, blogging, Facebook, Twitter, and iTunes for purchasing great music.

I do not recommend MySpace, Microsoft Windows, software/music piracy, cheap computers, overly-locked-down mobile phones, or using iTunes for purchasing bad music.

I graduated from Macon State College with a B.S. in Business and Information Technology. I am an aspiring writer and enjoy writing non-fiction and music. I married Lyndsay in 2000 and we have adopted four cats: Tom, Callie, Elwin, and Trixie. My interests include American history, politics, Christian theology, music, Macs, iPods, books, movies, etc. and it warms my heart to expound my thoughts and impressions concerning each of them. This is what you will find at The Smoak House.
