Veterans Day

Today is Veterans Day. Since I work for a Department of Defense contractor in an Air Force Base town my company observes all national holidays including this one. But I did not want this Veterans Day to be like other Veterans Days in which I had the day off and celebrated by sitting on the couch, watching a movie, or wasting time on the Internet. I want to really observe the day and celebrate the freedom we have.

So today Lyndsay and I will be visiting our local Museum of AviationV-Day which is located next to the Base and features a WWII exhibit. My favorite period in American history is the Revolutionary period, the era of the founding fathers. My second favorite period is that of the Second World War and the Greatest Generation. They certainly don’t make them like they used to. So I am excited to see the museum’s exhibits on aviation and the history of flight but in celebration of Veterans Day I am especially looking forward to “walking through” World War II.

May God bless America, her armed forces, and the veterans that have already given so much.

Josh H.
